Bitcoin Core has merged a privacy fix into its 32.x source branch to address code behavior that could correlate private-broadcast connections with standard node connections, CryptoSlate reported. The backport patch for the older 31.x branch remained open as of Oct. 8. [1]
The private broadcast feature remains disabled by default in the software, according to CryptoSlate. Users who enable the feature on version 31.1, which is the current stable download, are waiting for the backport patch to be completed. [1]
Bitcoin Core is free and open source software that acts as a reference implementation for the Bitcoin network. It connects to the network as a full node, verifying blocks and transactions to enforce network consensus rules. [4][5]
TOKENPOST reported that Bitcoin Core version 32.0 is targeting an Oct. 10 release following its final testing phases. [3]
