Payment volume processed on cryptocurrency cards reached a record 12.5 billion dollars after rising 140 percent year-to-date, Bitcoin Magazine reported. Bitcoin Magazine said the figure represents a 247 percent increase compared to levels recorded in October 2025. [1]
Bitcoin Magazine cited data from paymentscan.xyz, which was first shared by The Kobeissi Letter. The growth in card volume is being driven by the expanding adoption of stablecoins as a payment rail and demand for faster, lower-cost cross-border payments, according to The Kobeissi Letter. [1]
Cryptocurrencies are digital assets that use distributed ledger or blockchain technology to facilitate secure transactions. Tether Limited, which was founded in 2014, issues USDT, the largest stablecoin by market capitalization. [6][7]
In separate industry developments, cross-border payments company Conduit filed a lawsuit against Tether on October 5 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Decrypt reported. Decrypt said Conduit claims Tether froze 2.76 million dollars of its funds without justification in September 2025. [2]
