The Moscow Exchange has started testing cryptocurrency trading with professional market participants ahead of a planned rollout in December. Bitcoin Magazine Markets reported that Boris Blokhin, the senior managing director for sales and business development at the exchange, confirmed testing began in early October. Phemex and TOKENPOST both reported that the launch is scheduled for December 1. [1][2][3][7]

The platform plans to expand its asset offerings as part of the launch. According to Phemex, the exchange will enable trading in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT. Bitcoin Magazine Markets reported that the Moscow Exchange will work alongside a partner entity to facilitate these services. [1][2]

The move follows Russian regulatory adjustments designed to permit citizens to trade digital currencies. Bitcoin Magazine Markets reported that recent legislative updates paved the way for local investors to access digital asset markets through domestic financial infrastructure. Crypto Briefing and Pluang both reported that retail investors will gain access to these spot trading services. [1][6][8]

The Moscow Exchange is the largest exchange platform in Russia, operating markets across equities, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and precious metals. It was established in 2011 through the merger of the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange and the Russian Trading System. [10]
