Xaman wallet yield calculations show small XRP deposits face prolonged break even times

Illustrative fee data from XRP Ledger wallet Xaman shows that small yield deposits face high initial transaction costs that require months to recover.

Deposit fee structures on the Xaman wallet for the XRP Ledger can cause small balances to lose value over a one year period, according to CryptoSlate. An illustrative calculation published by the wallet provider shows that a first time deposit of 100 XRP yields negative net returns after 12 months. [1]

CryptoSlate reported that a 100 XRP deposit routed to Flare earning an illustrative 2.25 percent net annual yield would return 99.38 XRP after one year. The calculation factors in vault fees alongside fixed entry and redemption costs, which require approximately 15.4 months of yield accrual just to break even. [1]

The impact of these fixed fees diminishes significantly as transaction sizes increase, CryptoSlate noted. For a larger deposit of 10,000 XRP under the same fee and yield assumptions, the estimated time required to recover entry and redemption costs drops to approximately 4.5 months. [1]
