Solana holds a wide lead over Polygon across processing speeds, staked value, and developer engagement, Cryptonews.net reported on October 30, citing analysis from blockchain data platform Chainspect. The data highlights a substantial scale difference between the two network architectures. [1]

In performance measurements, Solana recorded 1,895 transactions per second over a 30-day period, according to Cryptonews.net. By comparison, Polygon registered 55.9 transactions per second over the same timeframe. [1]

The disparity extends to economic security and market capitalisation figures. Solana maintains 43.6 billion dollars in staked validator capital against a total valuation of 58.6 billion dollars, Cryptonews.net reported. Polygon holds 338 million dollars in staked value and has a market valuation of 953 million dollars. [1]

Proof-of-stake networks select validators in proportion to their cryptocurrency holdings to verify transactions without the computational expense of proof-of-work systems. Peercoin launched the first operational proof-of-stake cryptocurrency mechanism in 2012. [3]
