Wall Street equities experienced a steep decline on Friday following heightened market concerns regarding artificial intelligence and geopolitical developments, according to CoinDesk and CNBC. Pluang reported that the Cboe Volatility Index, or VIX, spiked by 21.5 percent during the selloff. TradingView reported that the index rose to a over four-month high as traders anticipated further upward moves in market volatility. [1][6][7][8]

Bitcoin traded in a choppy range during the market turbulence, holding around 82,001 dollars over the weekend, CoinDesk reported. Historical patterns in the VIX index combined with steady crypto price action over the weekend suggest the equity market panic may subside when trading resumes on Monday, according to CoinDesk and LCX Exchange. [1][2][9]

In derivative crypto markets, a sudden 10-minute price flush on Saturday wiped out nearly 52 million dollars in leveraged positions, CoinDesk Tech Security reported. The liquidations targeted round-the-clock chip-stock perpetual futures contracts while primary United States equity exchanges remained closed for the weekend. [3]

Tokenization developments continue across institutional venues as Wall Street firms explore digital asset integrations. As FTMQ Crypto reported earlier, research firm Citrini Research highlighted that tokenizing traditional securities such as equities, bonds, and loans could offer higher yield opportunities than major cryptocurrencies.
