Institutional trading activity and profit taking by large holders have altered the dynamics of Bitcoin price movements, according to 10x Research founder Markus Thielen. Cointelegraph and TradingView both reported that Thielen expects Bitcoin to reach 90,000 dollars by the end of the year. However, he noted that the asset's era of consecutive double-digit percentage surges has come to an end. [1][2][8]

Cointelegraph and Tokenpost both reported that institutional traders selling call options after price increases have reduced the frequency of sharp price explosions. Thielen, who authored the industry history Crypto Titans, stated that Wall Street market participants and profit-taking whales are reshaping the broader market structure. [1][2][10]

The involvement of traditional finance institutions continues to expand across digital assets. Separately, CoinDesk reported that CFTC Chair Michael Selig announced the clearing of perpetual futures on stocks to provide United States traders with a regulated venue alternative to offshore platforms. CoinDesk Tech Security also reported on institutional developments including proposed institutional controls for Ethereum. [3][4][6]

As FTMQ Crypto reported earlier, institutional participation through United States spot Bitcoin funds showed net outflows during seven out of eight major market declines since January 2024. The impact of traditional financial entities and options strategies reflects a broader integration of Wall Street mechanics into digital asset trading. [1][2][14]
