Major United States Bitcoin mining firms sold 23,000 Bitcoin during the third quarter, Iolite reported on November 5. Riot Platforms and Hut 8 disclosed the significant sales in their third-quarter earnings reports. Keel Infrastructure, formerly known as Bitfarms, also sold its entire Bitcoin treasury of 2,520 tokens for $192 million during the quarter, Bitcoin Magazine reported. [1][3]

The proceeds from the reserve sales are being directed toward corporate restructuring and infrastructure upgrades. According to Iolite, Riot Platforms is deploying funds into artificial intelligence data center construction and debt repayment. Hut 8 is using its capital to execute stock buybacks, which involve a company reacquiring its own shares to return money to equity holders. [1][11]

Keel Infrastructure cleared out its operational inventory by selling 2,261 Bitcoin held entering the quarter alongside 259 Bitcoin mined during the period, Bitcoin Magazine reported. The sales left the company with nominal treasury holdings on September 30. Keel stated that it plans to sell its Quebec-mined coins on a daily basis moving forward as it shifts focus to operating artificial intelligence data centers. [3]

Other major sector participants also shifted digital asset holdings during the period. The Market Periodical reported on November 5 that mining firm MARA transferred 1,650 Bitcoin to institutional platforms. Artificial intelligence data centers require specialized facility design and compute resources to handle parallel processing tasks for machine learning models. [2][10]
