Fifty public companies have formally objected to having their shares tokenized on OKXICE, a joint venture between cryptocurrency exchange OKX and New York Stock Exchange parent Intercontinental Exchange. Bitcoin Magazine Markets, UToday, and Decrypt all reported that the number of objecting firms reached 50 as a initial 30-day notice window neared its close. [1][3][4]

The newest list of objectors added 12 companies, including Nvidia, Costco, Nike, Micron, and Reddit, according to Bitcoin Magazine Markets and Decrypt. UToday noted that the total number of objecting issuers jumped from 38 to 50 within two days following an updated public notice issued by the venue. CoinDesk reported that nearly 70 percent of the companies initially selected for trading have now opted out of the plan. [1][2][3][4]

The latest objectors join prominent firms that had previously opted out under the Securities and Exchange Commission Innovation Exemption. These issuers include Microsoft, Alphabet, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Broadcom, Verizon, and Intel, Bitcoin Magazine Markets reported. CoinDesk added that 19 firms, including Apple, Tesla, and Amazon, have no disclosed objections to the tokenization proposal. [1][2]

OKX is a cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in San Jose, California. Nike is an American athletic footwear and apparel corporation headquartered near Beaverton, Oregon. [11][12]
